Founded in 2017 by Sophie Matson, Købn is an Australian lifestyle brand shaped by over two decades in the textile industry. Guided by thoughtful design and refined simplicity, Købn creates versatile pieces that bring beauty and function to everyday rituals — from the bathroom to the poolside, at home or away. 

Inspiration is drawn from architecture, nature, interiors, art, and the emotional resonance of colour. Central to the brand is an exploration of colour - the interplay and contrasting combinations to evoke a mood - calming, grounding, energising, or uplifting.

Designed in Melbourne and woven in Denizli, Turkey — a region renowned for centuries of textile craftsmanship — each piece is produced in partnership with a family-run mill committed to ethical practices, safe working conditions, and environmentally responsible production.

With sustainability at the core of the brand, each piece is Made in Green by OEKO-TEX® certified ensuring ethical and sustainable production. 

At the heart of the collection is the signature Købn towel: reversible in design with one side terry and the other plain weave, finished with raw-edge fringing and textural drop pile stripes. Highly absorbent yet lightweight, the timeless towels are equally suited to the bathroom, beach, pool, or travel.

The collection extends to hand towels and bath mats, designed to mix, match, and layer seamlessly across spaces for both indoor and outdoor appeal. Every item is made to last, with sustainability at the forefront of material choice and manufacturing.

The name Købn is derived from København — the Danish word for Copenhagen — a tribute to the city’s muted façades and architectural tones that inspired the first collection.
