Founded in 2017 by Sophie Matson, Købn is an Australian lifestyle brand shaped by over two decades in the textile industry. Guided by thoughtful design and refined simplicity, Købn creates versatile pieces that bring beauty and function to everyday rituals — from the bathroom to the poolside, at home or away.

Designed in Melbourne and woven in Denizli, Turkey — a region renowned for centuries of textile craftsmanship — each piece is produced in partnership with a family-run mill committed to ethical practices, safe working conditions, and environmentally responsible production.

At the heart of the collection is the signature Købn towel: reversible in design with one side terry and the other plain weave, finished with raw-edge fringing and textural drop pile stripes. Highly absorbent yet lightweight, these towels are designed for life — equally suited to the bathroom, beach, pool, or travel.

Our Inspiration
Købn draws inspiration from architecture, nature, interiors, art, and the emotional resonance of colour. Central to the brand is an exploration of how colour shapes mood — calming, grounding, energising, or uplifting — and how it can enhance the atmosphere of a space.

Each design is informed by colour theory and a respect for restraint, resulting in a timeless palette and soft stripes that transition effortlessly from indoor to outdoor living.

The name Købn is derived from København — the Danish word for Copenhagen — a tribute to the city’s muted façades and architectural tones that inspired the first collection.
